Noah found a new pet today. Mom was called into the room with, "Mom, look at my new pet! He has wings, but he carries diseases."
... You can imagine mom's surprise when she came into the room.

Such presumptions subvert the authority of parents to exercise important responsibilities toward their children. Under the UN Convention, parental responsibility exists only in so far as parents are willing to further the independent choices of the child.As far as the current rights of parents being underhanded by judges, read this tragic story about a 17 year old autistic child. If this has at all sparked some interest on your part, you should check out parentalrights.org and read all the issue, the threat, and their proposed solution. It's quite an informative site with a wealth of knowledge. Here is an excerpt from their proposed solution:"Oppose the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child" - 2/1/99

So Amie told me a pretty funny story and I thought I would share it. She had to get some blood work done today, and we weren't able to get a babysitter. So Amie brought the kids to the appointment with her. She was feeling quite dizzy on her way into the appointment, and upon getting to the examination room set Frencesca down. She must have been unsure of herself because she immediately fell and bonked her head on the floor. Amie was picking her up and comforting her when she heard Noah say, "mama dirty." She turned around to see Noah covered in red, and lip stick in his hands. She had no idea where he got that shade of red lip stick, but there he was, red cheeks and all. No sooner than she tried taking care of him did he touch Frencesca and gave her red streaks of lip stick on her head as well. Of course the nurse walked in at that moment, gasped in horror to what she deducted as blood on Frencesca's head! I guess she had known or saw her fall, and assumed it was blood. Amie must have had a fun time explaining it all to her!
I just really had to share this. This is hilarious!!

So Amie called to tell me "something amazing happened:"
So guess what happened today? I was feeding Frencesca in the kitchen and I told Noah that he would have to play in his room until his sister was done eating. After she was done eating, it was really quiet and I decided to see what he had been getting into. When I peeked into his room, he was laying on his bed asleep! He put himself down for a nap! That is amazing!So needless to say Amie is absolutely surprised and happy about this. I told her not to get used to it, and that he was an extremely tired little boy today. He didn't have a nap yesterday, got to bed a little late, didn't sleep well last night, and got up early. Needles to say he was quite the cranky boy when he woke up. Hopefully he will be well rested by tonight.

So Amie decided to take a good 13 inches off her hair today, and donate it to locks of love. I personally love her hair long, and will be sad to see it go. But she has kept it at this long length all this time for me, and for that I am thankful. It hasn't been this long since I first met her, which has been quite the accomplishment. Thankfully, we have our friend Jess taking care of her hair, and I definitely think she will do an excellent job. In the past she's gone to a salon to cut a few inches off, and come back with a very short (and cute, mind you) hairstyle. Which was surprising to me, for sure. This shouldn't be any less of a dramatic change, and I am excited to see what it turns out looking like. I have to confess, I did find some old video footage of Amie with a short hairstyle, and she was quite attractive. So I think it will be a good change. Later I will post the new hairstyle for all to see.
I forgot that I am having a trim and highlights as well, or I would have taken some before shots of my head as well. I'm going to try and grow it out a little, and it's going to be styled and cut to look good at the present length. I will probably take some before and afters of it, so check back later!
