Riverside Photo

They took a photo of Frencesca in the Riverside nursery one day while were still at the hospital. Here she is in her pretty little dress that mom picked out.

Put Noah to work.

Amie's last day at the hospital was yesterday, so Noah and I spent the day alone. Just the guys. But to tell you the truth, we really had quite the task at hand: to clean the house and have it ready for our new baby sister! Noah did his fair-share of cleaning, as you will see in the following photographs.

We really had a great time together yesterday. He's an awesome little kid.

Here are some adorable photos I took of Frencesca! Most of them are from the day she was born (you'll notice lots of Vernix), the rest are from the following two days.

New Baby Girl!

We have a new baby girl. Here is a quick post:

Amie woke up at about 4:30 a.m. on Friday with hard and very constant contractions. We were in the hospital by 5:30, as the contractions got a lot more painful. She asked about the epidural and at about 8:30 the anesthetist was able (after three tries) to help her out. At around 10:10 a.m. she began pushing our little one out, and although her epidural wore off* and she was in excellent pain, she did so very well. She only pushed for a little under ten minutes.

* I say wore off but we both think that they either forgot to give her an additional dose at the appropriate time, or they intentionally turned it off.

Great Amazon find!

So my colleague Brian mentioned that he wanted some sort of coffee warmer. Something that would help him enjoy a lasting cup o' joe, while tapping away at his keys, writing line after line of code at work.

I thought I would look into it, and mentioned to him that they make USB coffee warmers. He thought it would be awesome, and found one on Amazon: (Note the section at the bottom that reads, "What do customers ultimately buy after viewing this item?")

So Brian and I figured that, based on that page, the target audience for this Amazon "USB Cup Mug Warmer + 4-Port Hub" were parents of newborns, who couldn't manage to drink coffee in one sitting while it's still hot. Or perhaps, they have one hand holding the coffee mug, and one hand changing the diaper. Thus the need for some special cup to deflect the "Sprinkling Wee Wee".

*Also, Mike (also a fellow colleague) mentioned if you did feel the need for something like this, just use Dixie Cups. I don't think he had experience in the matter, it was just a split-second solution he thought up.
