Trip to Michigan

We took a trip to Michigan on the weekend before last (14-15.) Here are some photos from our adventures! We got to see the great grandparents, and even a great-great grandfather. Noah got to hang out with his cousin Caleb, and he enjoyed that.

Oh! On the way into Michigan, we stopped to feed Frencesca, so Noah and I got out and explored the truck stop. We found little biker jackets, and had to take a few photos of him in one, which he wasn't too happy about. But he looks so cool! A man browsing the same question told him, "there you go, now you just need a motorcycle." I responded to him, "well dad would need one first... I'll have to talk to mom about that." Amie laughed when I told her, and I take that to mean that we will be going motorcycle shopping! (or not)

Big Red

So I was getting ready for our weekly web team meeting, and I saw Mike walk by with his usual meeting beverage: Mountain Dew. I nodded, and agreed that would be a good choice today. So I walked to the fridge, and to my amazement there was Big Red! This brought back memories of Jr/Sr high with James. He first introduced me to this, and I haven't really seen much since. He explained that it was hard to find (in N.Y.), and it was pretty common in Texas. He also told me about the high Red#40 content, which gave him more of a buzz than caffeine did because of ADHD. Caffeine actually has an adverse outcome to what you would normally expect, and the red#40 in Big Red for him, is equivalent to caffeine for me.

Good times. Oh, what a can of Big Red can do. Just thought I share that trip back down memory lane. Below is a sketch I did of the Big Red logo at my meeting.

25 Reasons

Dan sent this link to me from BittBox, which I found hilarious! I took and condensed the list to what is true for me. You can view the original list at the link below.

25 (or so) Reasons You Might Be A Hardcore Graphic/Web Designer(Full/original list at BittBox)

  1. You’ve had “Software Nightmares,” when you’ve been working way too much.
  2. You’ve learned your lesson and stopped using the word “final” in any file name when saving.
  3. You clean your keyboard more often than you wash your car.
  4. You’ve intentionally given up trying to explain your projects to non-designers.
  5. You see CMYK and RGB like Neo sees the Matrix.
  6. You’d rather organize your desktop than your sock drawer.
  7. You’ve totally slaughtered a great design concept because the client thinks he/she knows best. (everyone thinks they are a designer)
  8. You’ve kept a ragged concert ticket just so you could scan it.
  9. You’ve nicknamed the OSX spinning wheel. (and not affectionately)
  10. You bookmark a resource more often than you have a fun night out on the town.
  11. You can’t go to a restaurant without secretly critiquing the menu design.
  12. You have an amazingly huge font collection, and an amazingly short temper.
  13. If you had a penny for every mouse click, you would have been a trillionaire 3 years ago.

Tay Tay

Here are some photos that were just sent to me of Noah's cousin Taylor, (or "Tay Tay.") He's growing up so fast! I think they will love hanging out and playing, next time we get together.

A surprising kiss

So I was looking through the photos I took this last weekend, and found a good one. We were getting some cute shots of mama and Frencesca, and she must have been pretty surprised about the kiss she was receiving. It's not a very flattering photo, but it's pretty funny. So check back for some really cute photos of our daughter.

iTunes $7.99 sale

So I checked out the new iTunes sale and realized that there are a ton of quality albums that I would like to pick up. Here's a run through of what I saw that I would love to add to my collection:

So if you were looking for a good $7.99 gift for me, there you go! There's always the option of the iTunes gift card as well.

Tennessee Trip

We took a trip to Tennessee to visit family this Easter. It was a good trip. Google maps says it about 7.5 hours to get to Tennessee, and it took us roughly 13 hours to get there. We had to stop to feed Frencesca every 3 or so hours for an hour each stop, which really slowed the trip down. But the kids really did very well in the car. Noah sat there and enjoyed the new SUV that we rented. He loved it so much in fact that, he didn't want to leave it when I showed to him initially. He definitely thought it was very cool. We rented a Chrysler Aspen and it was able to take the E85 fuel, which was awesome. It would have been even better if we could have found a place in (or around) Tenn that had it. It seemed like everyone agreed that it was very cool, but no one knew what it was or where we could get it. Oh well. We decided (as we do with every car we rent) that we could like one.

We took a lot of photos, and I uploaded the following photos to my Wal-Mart photo account. So if you would like to print some high quality photos email me, or post a comment, and I'll email you an appropriate link.

Tennessee update

So today was our last final day in Tennessee before out drive home tomorrow. We have free wireless at the hotel, which is cool, but all I've managed to do is check email and such after our long days before we crash. I thought I would post something, because for some reason I feel like I should use this wireless at least one last time.

The trip has been going very well. The kids took the drive very well, and it made it nice for us. I feel like it's going to be hard getting back into the groove of 'normal life' again, and I'm not really looking forward to that. We did get some cool things from the easter bunny though, which we are also currently snaking on at the moment.

Well, I am really tired. I'll post more later. There will be tons of photos as well. I looked through some of them tonight, and there are a lot of really good ones. So, may your anticipation be heightened.

A conversation with Amie

I don't think this needs much explanation.
